Senior Prom
Graduating seniors and their dates, which included some underclass students, celebrate their senior prom on shipboard.
Decked out in their finest gowns and tuxedos, the senior class gathered at the Liberty Landing Marina for a three-hour long cruise up the Hudson the night of May 25th. Despite some formidable traffic just before Memorial Day weekend, everyone arrived on time for the scheduled departure at 7:00 pm, although there were some anxious moments before one missing stretch limo hove into sight.
The night was warm, the weather balmy as the group gathered first for hors d'oeuvres on the upper deck and then assembled below for a gala buffet dinner. Parents stayed home, but a sampling of teachers and staff came along to enjoy the festivities. Dinner was followed by the requisite dancing back on the upper deck. By some fortunate circumstance, Craig School had the ship entirely to itself and the kids made the most of it while the adults strained to converse above the music.
It was a wonderful night! The food was great, the ambience warm and friendly, everyone seemed to be having a fine time, and no one fell overboard!
