Craig Lower School Expo a Triumph!

expothumb.jpgOver 250 students and parents attended the annual lower school Expo on Friday, March 23rd.

Kudos to Mr. Aquino and his talented group of actors for their Friday night production of “We Need a New Spring Play!” The play had the audience doubled over in their seats. Although always a treat, Mr. Aquino outdid himself with this year’s play and the kids were fabulous.

The play was modeled after Donald Trump’s TV show, the task for the “contestants” being to showcase scenes for a new spring play. Of course, as each contestant presented an entry, it failed to meet “Mr. Trump’s” standard and the contestant was fired. The scenes, themselves, were take-offs on old favorites – Annie, Cats, The Wizard of Oz, Phantom of the Opera, and Grease. Mr. Aquino’s singular sense of humor crept into the action with renditions of George W, Hillary, and Bill. Even Paris Hilton got into the act, literally.

Refreshments in the Wilson cafeteria and visits to the lower school classrooms followed the play. Volcanoes erupted in Ms. Guthrie’s room, candies and toothpicks illustrated math problems in Ms. Lopatosky’s room, art filled the corridors, and theme papers lined the walls. It was an impressive showcase of the work the Craig students have accomplished this year.
