Viva La Mexico!
Craig's 20th annual auction at the Madison Hotel in Morristown was once again a huge success.
How is it that the PACS pulls off year after year an event of this magnitude? It can really be likened to a Broadway production -- months of work in preparation, lining up the cast (auctioneer) and crew (parent and staff volunteers), attending to the finances (finding donors and sponsors, calculating costs & billing), the staging (the theme and decorations), the myriad of details in orchestrating the night itself (tickets, sign-in, seating), not to mention the clean up afterward! Unless you are one of those who gave up your life for the last couple of months to run this event, you have no idea of the work involved and the dedication of the people who put this event together.
"Plethora," "superabundance", "profusion" - none of these words begin to do justice to the number and variety of items in the silent auction. Then the food, a delicious and varied assorment to please all sorts of palates! During the dinner and live auction, Reed Fraasa, our new auctioneer this year, brought down the house with his remarks about Mrs. Ginny Reyer and his tutelage of Mr. Tom Reyer as a novice flamenco dancer. His job as he reiterated frequently was to instill "passion" into the audience to drive up the bidding and he did just that.
This was an evening of surpassing fun! So many people joined in the effort: parents, students, faculty, staff, but the people who deserve the most credit for making it all come together are: Ginny Reyer and Lorrie Zesk, auction Co-Chairs, and PACS president, Joan Boglioli. Craig School is blessed!
