Dodge-a-thon Raises $1,310
Lower School students raised $1,310 for the New Jersey Battered Women's Services.
Balls flew across the gym as Craig students ducked and dodged to avoid being eliminated in the Dodge-a-thon tournament held on June 11th at the Craig Lower School in Mountain Lakes. The event raised $1,310 for the New Jersey Battered Women’s Services. The organization was chosen because Monique Perlman, a social worker with the agency, has worked with Craig’s middle school students for the past two years on appropriate teenage dating behavior. In the past Craig’s faculty traditionally raised funds during the holidays to support the NJ Battered Women’s Services.
Over 80 students in grades 3 through 8 paid a minimum of $10.00 to participate in the Student Council sponsored event. Popcorn, cotton candy, mozzarella sticks, and sub sandwiches sustained the six-member teams between bouts. The “Peaceful Pirates” took first place while the “Non-toxic, Harmless Spiders” and “Destructive Daisies” were second and third, respectively.
