Learning How To Learn

 In addition to meeting New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards, the courses we provide our students at Craig Middle School incorporate a diversity of strategy-based instructional models across our curriculum. As student’s transitions from elementary to middle school, our focus shifts from a language processing emphasis to also include a study skills and writing emphasis. The Middle School curriculum features cross-curricular classroom integrations, systematic progressions to independent learning including note taking and approaches to studying/test taking, and the development of research writing skills. Our study skills/writing emphasis is designed to give students the core skill set they will need at the secondary level and beyond and allow our students to become increasingly independent learners and thinkers. Craig Middle School also offers a variety of diverse social opportunities including a full sports program, after-school activities, and weekend “Stepping Outs”.
