Periodically, I write about art and its influence on me and our students. At Craig, our visitors on Grandfriends’ Day were greeted with Gratitude Trees, which are pieces of art. I hope you read the various comments about them in a variety of places. At Craig High School, we have begun an Instagram account from the art classroom so you can see the variety of pieces being produced there. In the last month, I have attended several exhibits in our region which have prompted me to think about the world as seen through an artist’s eyes.

As we move into December, when more time is away from school, I hope our students have a chance to spend more time with the visual world. This time of year has many opportunities to enjoy art – including the “house artists” who decorate with lights to celebrate this joyous season. Take a minute to look and see the ways folks present “art” of all kinds around you. I am always surprised how much there is and we take it for granted.
