Grandfriends
Next week is Grandfriends’ Day in our Lower and Middle School. This morning event held on the last day before our Thanksgiving break, has a long tradition at the school. We choose the day before our Thanksgiving Break because, for our students, it is an ideal time for all generations in the family to see how much progress has been made at Craig. By holding it at Thanksgiving time, for many families, the Thanksgiving Day events have an additional meaning. Craig is a life-changing event for many of our students. We hear this often. We also hear, like I wrote last week, that this is a time when there can be additional stress at home. It is my hope that with Grandfriends’ day that our consistent, time-tested, and structured academic program at school becomes better understood by other members of the student’s family. The partnership we strive to have between school and family is paramount and our hope is we are the doing best we can each day to strengthen that relationship.
