Upper School
Upper School Clubs
The following club activities are among those organized by Upper School students. Each year the club list is revised in accordance with the students' interests.
Billiards Club: The students organized a billiards club at a nearby facility which quickly became a popular outing for students and faculty alike.
Chess Club: The chess club provides opportunities for novices to learn the art of chess as well as more advanced players to sharpen and hone their skills. Lessons on opening, attacks, and historical approaches to the game will be shared.
The Inventive Society: The inventive society provides a platform for students to express their creativity in various mediums. In this environment, students will be able to illustrate and write in whatever theme they choose. Co-operative work is encouraged and supported.
Yearbook Committee: This school year the Craig Upper School is having our students create their yearbook. The committee is in charge of deciding the contents as well as cover design, photograph selection, and writing samples that will be used in the final edit. The Yearbook Committee's overall goal is give every student at the Upper School a voice in the yearbook through surveys, submissions, and naming the publication.
Photography Club: Students will study landscapes, night and low light photography, action and sport photography, and stereoscopic photography. Students will build a portfolio of their work over the course of the semester.
Spanish Club: Students will be immersed in Hispanic Culture and Heritage. They will learn and celebrate the Spanish National Holidays, dine on authentic Spanish Cuisine, and learn the classic Spanish Dances.
Outdoor Club: The Outdoor Club will provide students the opportunity to explore our surrounding environment. We will hike, fish, ski, camp, canoe and climb throughout New Jersey this year, exposing students to an array of outdoor activities. We welcome both novice and experienced outdoorsmen/women. All our scheduled events are tailored according to the groups collective abilities.
Computer/Graphics Club: The goal of this club is to enable students to pursue their interests in computers while completing a personal technology-related project. Using appropriate software, they will design, create and manipulate graphics. They can modify digital or traditional photos, or create albums, web pages or collages. They can also create multimedia presentations, linking sound, print and images. They will learn to explore computer technology, express their creativity, develop communication skills and share ideas.
Music Club: The music club was created to provide students who have an active interest in music to share love of music and talents. Students can bring in their instruments and jam with other musicians. In the future, we hope to put together a rock group and write some of our own music. Students will be given the opportunity to express themselves artistically and work together to make some good sounding music.
