Library & Leadership Council
Check out this exciting news!
The Craig School Library officially moved September 6, 2018. The new space, affords students and teachers more room to read, research and discover. Our current collection houses approximately 3,500 books and is growing thanks to parents who have chosen to generously donate new and gently used books.
In addition to our book collection we purchased a new software program to catalogue our books. Lori Marano, Susan Veal, Nicole Chetnik, Amanda Jahn, and Lea Velocci all helped to scan and label the books, then alphabetize them on the shelves. This truly was a team effort.
Another exciting component to our library are the Google Expeditions that are available to all classes. Students arrive at the library with their class during a scheduled time to “Launch from the Library” on a virtual tour.
The library makeover was funded in large part by the Leadership Council who raised money through their first annual Plant Sale last spring. The Council had planned on purchasing outdoor equipment but when they saw this need they switched gears. The balance of the decor was donated by PACS and the Chetnik family. If you have not had an opportunity to see the new space please stop by.
If you would like to volunteer to be a library aide contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Leadership is action not position….
Leadership Council is underway for the 2018-2019 school year. We had one of the biggest groups join in September! Currently the Council is working on the 7th-8th grade Halloween party which will take place on October 26th. At out last meeting students signed up for various committees such as peer leaders, ambassadors, announcer, spirit day coordinator, etc. It proves to be a fruitful year. Next month we will begin our food drive for Denville Social Services.
- The 7th and 8th Grade Leadership Council has been formed. If your child missed the boat and still wants to join make sure they reach out to Mrs. Given this week. She will provide a contract for them to sign so they can become members.
