Craig School New Jersey

HS Week Of May 17, 2021

Two big things unfolding next week: Governor Murphy’s review of the new CDC mask guidelines and Prom week at Craig High.

Let’s start with the uncertain.  As soon as we are advised by the NJDOH that the latest CDC guidelines are applicable in NJ (the most densely populated state in the country), we will review school policy regarding face coverings and social distancing guidelines.

Now here is what we know!  Prom Set up next Friday after school (students welcome to stay 3-4:30PM but must sign up with Dr. Cap) which leads us to our “Starry Night” on Saturday night!  Don’t worry.  We will take plenty of awesome pics!

Have a great weekend,

Dr. Cap

PACSAC Day 2021 Live-Streamed

Save the Date-Friday, May 28th is our annual “PACSAC 2021”. What is “PACSAC” you ask?  It is our annual PACS sponsored breakfast followed by our  Student Awards Ceremony (hence PACS-AC or as we call it PACSAC!).

All of our families are invited to join us virtually!  We will be live streaming the event starting at 10:45 AM and you can be a part of it by going to our  Live Stream Link at Feel free to share our link with family and friends! Enclosed in our picture gallery are pictures from our last PACSAC day!

Earth Day 2021: Slam Dunk the Junk

A couple of weeks back, we celebrated Earth Day  with all students taking part in helping to beautify the campus.  Armed with 4-ft pick-up sticks, trash bags, and words of encouragement from Mr. Norton, our students covered our two-acre campus from top to bottom removing anything that was not green and growing! In addition to doing their part for our community and the Earth, our students also earned  a $600 recycling grant through the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority in their “Slam Dunk the Junk” program.  We joined schools from all over Morris County in this program and will use our grant money to strengthen our internal recycling program  by purchasing new recycling bins for each classroom and designated paper/bottle bins!

HS Reminders

Yearbooks are Now on Sale

This year’s edition of the Craig High yearbook promises to be the most sought-after collector’s item that we have ever published.  Please email Mrs. Maas at indicating how many copies you would like, and send in your check ($35 per copy), made out to “The Craig School '' to reserve your copy(s). Yearbooks will be distributed to seniors prior to Commencement;  All other students will receive theirs during the last week of school.

High School Prom May 22nd, 2021: Starry Night!

Tickets are still on sale for Prom 2021-Starry Night!  Students just need to see one of our Prom Committee members during lunch or break, have $20 in hand, and our designed collectors ticket is all theirs! (look in our photo gallery for this one-of-a-kind ticket!).  Big thank you to Jules and Mrs. T.  Here is everything prom that need to know:

  • Prom Set Up: We will be staying after school on Friday, May 21st to set up.  Students are welcome to stay to help as long as they have a ride that can pick them up at CHS at 4:30 PM.
  • Prom Night: Drop off at 6 PM at our usual Craig Event Center Entrance (also known as the gym entrance!).  There will be a full Buffett and sit-down dinner.  Dress expectations are to look sharp and not like you are heading to Home Depot on a Sunday. Dessert will be served and the last dance will be at 8:55 PM!
  • Guests/Plus Ones: Any guest from outside of our school must either show a vaccination card or a recent negative Co-Vid test (within three days of the prom).
  • Chaperones: Our amazing staff has this covered.
  • Clean-Up: Any student that would like to stay until 9:30 PM may help with clean up

All Set-Up and Clean-Up time will count towards community service. Any prom questions email Dr. Cap at
