Last weeks prom was a great community success and we have the pictures to prove it! (https://link.shutterfly.com/0NrjyLI04pb) We have quite a few people we would like to thank who worked behind the scenes and whose roles were so important in being able to pull off an event like this.
We would like to thank our Prom Mom’s, Ms. Jahn and Mrs. Walsh for their vision and all of the time they put in to turning our CSHS Gym into a true Hollywood Night. Thank you to alumni parent Mr. McHugh, also known as Victoria and Malya’s dad, and Frank’s Market in NYC for providing our prom goers an amazng italian dinner. Thanks to all of of our CSHS parents who filled our appetizer, drink, and dessert tables. And finally, thank you Mrs. Gallagher for taking on the role of prom photographer, Ms. Crum, Mrs. Brown, Ms. Skerker and Chip, and Dr. Loftin for helping to make this special night such an amazing success.
Next Friday, May 27th, CSHS will be hosting its annual Student Awards Ceremony and all of our families are invited to join us either live or virtually! Gym doors will open at 1:20PM for those that would like to join us on campus. For those joining us online, the live stream will start around 1:30PM. CSHS Senior Blake Accepted to High Point University: We are proud to share that CSHS Senior Blake has been accepted to High Point University in High Point, North Carlina! Blake is very interested in attending HPU and becoming a Panther after he toured the campus in early Spring. .
High Point was founded in 1924, first as High Point College. It then became a university in 1991 and prides itself on being the Premier Life Skills University ®. HPU offers 61 undergraduate majors, 65 undergraduate minors, and 14 graduate majors. HPU is a private university with approximately 6000 total students. The university has a student-to-faculty ratio of 17:1. The school has 16 NCAA Division I varsity sports along with a plethora of student extracurricular activities such as community service opportunities, religious and spiritual events, bass fishing club, improv comedy, and Greek Life organizations. Many students participate in the Learning Excellence program, a fee-based academic support system on campus. They offer academic coaching, professional tutoring, priority class registration, and working with students on time management, organization, and executive functioning skills. One of HPU’s campus traditions is to not walk across the stone school seal on the campus quad until students graduate! Congratulations again to Blake on his exciting acceptance!
