This week we celebrate another CSHS Class of 2022 acceptance. This time around its CSHS Senior Armando who was accepted into Universal Technical Institute (UTI) located in Bloomfield NJ. In addition, we highlight a couple of Craig High artists whose work was on display at Montclair State University for the 2022 NJ Congressional Art Competition.
And to lead us into next weekend, we celebrate Mrs. Janet Cozine, an important figure in the growth and development of not only the students who have come through the doors of the Craig School over the past 40 years but in the development and growth of the Craig School itself. Her commitment and expertise are one of the main reasons that Craig is respected and embraced as a standard for independent schools for students with learning disabilities. So please, join us this Saturday at 10AM at our LSMS as we celebrate the career of Janet Cozine with a special walk through Mt. Lakes.

Senior Accepted to Universal Technical Institute: CSHS Senior, Armando, was accepted to Universal Technology Institute (UTI) in the Auto & Diesel Technology program on the Bloomfield, NJ campus. UTI has campuses across the country and more than 200,000 students have graduated its programs and entered the tech field working with cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats. Armando will be training for a career that is in high demand with many job openings, as more and more technicians retire which is leaving a large trade gap in the industry. Through its hands-on programs, UTI readies students for a fast-paced career. Many students graduate the program within two years and have immediate job placements at local dealerships and collision repair companies. With Armando’s dual degree in both Auto and Diesel Technology, he will be well-prepared to enter this booming industry. Congratulations Armando!
Students Represented in NJ 11th district Congressional Art Competition: Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated. Students submit entries to their Representative’s office, and panels of judges select the winning entries. On May 5th, 9th grader Chloe and 12th grader Aidan showcased some of their finest work in the NJ 11th district Congressional Art Competition, held at Montclair State University, and were personally honored by Congresswomen, Mikie Sherrill.
Aidan submitted his Petals and Scales, a large-scale drawing that took over 6 hours and is made in graphite and charcoal. Chloe's Sightseeing is an incredibly detailed, panoramic style drawing created with pen and ink and sharpie. We are so proud of our student artists and all of their hard work leading up to this prestigious event. Excellent job Chloe and Aiden!
