This past week, winter somehow returned, our bowling season wrapped up, report cards went home, and we officially began our 3rd trimester. As we roll into our precursor week to Spring Break, we celebrate the return of Craig High softball, take a peek inside the CSHS Art Studio and share the amazing creativity of our students, and support our National Honor Society in their collaboration with the Ronald McDonald House.

CSHS National Honor Society Joins Forces with the Ronald McDonald House for Soda Can Tab Collection: The National Honor Society is collecting pop tabs from soda cans to send to the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Central & Northern New Jersey. RMH provides families a place to stay that is located near local children’s hospitals while their loved ones receive medical treatment. These tabs have significant value in the recycling industry, as they are a pure form of aluminum. Each pop tab helps make a difference to a family and our environment so that means each of us can make a difference by saving these aluminum tabs at home and then dropping them in our pop tab collection can located on the break bar counter.

Art Program Spotlight-Digital Mosaics: Students in the CSHS Art Studio collectively worked on a Digital Mosaic project, a modern perspective on a digital art form. After learning about the history of mosaics, students were asked to choose a subject of inspiration and create their own digital mosaic using Google Drawings. Students familiarized themselves with line tools, color matching, and beginning digital layer practice through this experience, and also exercised a TON of patience before they had a finished product. Their hard work paid off and the results are captivating! Check out our mosaic gallery and other recent art projects by our students at the Craig Art Studio Website: https://sites.google.com/craigschool.org/craig-art-studio/home
Badger Softball is Back: After a two-year hiatus, we are excited to announce that Badger Softball is back. Working with the town of Montville, we have secured our field for the season. It is the Etta Konner Park in Pine Brook (Directions to Field) which is 3 miles from the Craig School High School. Coach Norton will be taking point and practices will be the following Tuesdays from 3-4:45 PM:
Pick up will be at ETTA KONNER PARK at 4:45 PM on practice dates. Do not park on the road, only on the grassy area.
We are looking to schedule a home game in late April, early May. We will keep you posted. Any questions contact Coach Norton at SNorton@craigschool.org
Badger Bowling 2022 Wrap Up: This year’s Badger Bowling intramural league wrapped up its season and what a season it was. To give you an idea of just how awesome it was, Coach Crum pulled together the numbers to prove it, and here is what she came up with:

JANET M. COZINE AUDITORIUM
Thank you for all of your support for the Janet M. Cozine Auditorium renovation. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to this project, and for those who have gotten involved and shared their experiences at The Craig School.
Our campaign continues and as of today we have raised $165,000 with gifts from every constituency of the school: students, parents, faculty, staff, former faculty, alumni, alumni parents, and grandparents. A testament to Janet's 42 year career and the impact made on the lives of so many families that are a part of Badger Nation.
Our goal is to raise $265,000 for the completion of the project. If you have not given to the campaign, please consider a gift today to celebrate our esteemed Director of the Lower and Middle School, Janet M. Cozine.
You can pledge here:
Donate to the Janet M. Cozine Auditorium,
pay via Text2Fund by texting Badgers to 71760,
pay via Paypal at https://www.craigschool.org/giving/
or send a check made payable to The Craig School.
On Saturday, May 21, 2022 we will be hosting a walk to honor Janet M. Cozine. We hope you and your families will be joining us for a celebration of Janet and a stroll down Mrs. Cozine’s daily route along the Boulevard in Mountain Lakes followed by refreshments on the Mountain Lakes campus.
April LUNCH DELIVERY Program Ordering Window: The April LUNCH DELIVERY ordering window will open starting this Friday, March 18th through next Wednesday, March 23rd.
You will notice when placing your order that there are a couple of minor price increases starting in April. Our Chinese food vendor has instituted a modest price increase and our online vendor, My Food Days, is now charging a 99¢ service charge per total order. This is a one-time per month charge, not a charge on each day's order.
As annual CSHS April lunch tradition dictates, we will be celebrating William Shakespeare's birthday on Friday, April 22nd with a traditional English fare, which will include fish and chips, cottage pie (think Shepard’s pie but with beef), bangers, and mash and classic British flapjacks for dessert! If you have any questions about any of the above or our lunch delivery program in general, please reach out to Amanda Jahn at amandajahn77@gmail.com
