As we shared before Thanksgiving break, our fall parent-teacher conferences would be virtual and happening next week (Weds-Fri, Dec 8-10). We hope you found the conferences informative and unifying. When it comes to your teen, we are truly in this together.
Also, next week we have our trimester treat collection request from PACS (send in by Tuesday, Dec 7), our cross-campus toy drive with our Middle School Leadership Council (wraps up next Friday, Dec 10), and believe it or not, it’s time to get your January lunch delivery orders in (last day Fri Dec 17). We will see you on Zoom next week!

VIRTUAL December Parent-Teacher (PT) Conferences: Just a reminder on how our Dec 8-10 Virtual PT Conferences will work-
Picture Retake Day, Monday, December 6th: Picture Retake day is next Monday, December 6th. Students who will be having retakes should come to school dressed for the occasion and should bring their original photo package with them to give to the photographer on that day.
A new photo pack will be produced from the new image and will be delivered to the school in 3 to 4 weeks. For students who are getting their pictures taken for the first time, make sure you have your online orders in. Any questions, reach out to Mrs. T (KTartaglia@craigschool.org)
10th Grader Nate Takes to the Stage with The Pebble Players Youth Theatre: Recently we discovered that Sophomore Nate, who joined CSHS this year, just wrapped up his first season with the Pebble Players Youth Theatre in Summit. Their season began in mid-September with weekend rehearsals with his 30+ castmates and culminated with performances in mid-November. The musical they performed was Urinetown, a Tony Award-winning musical satire that pokes fun at the legal system, capitalism, and musical theatre itself. Nat was part of the ensemble and more specifically, a member of the “Your In Good Company” group! (as he told me, say it slowly and you will get the joke). He shared that his brother was an alum of the Pebbles Players. Way to go Nate!
The Craig High School National Honor Society and Craig Middle School Council Team Up to Collect Toys for Area Children: The CSHS National Honors Society is partnering with the Craig Middle School Leadership Council this upcoming holiday season to support a local toy drive for children in need in our area. We are reaching out to our Craig High parent community to join us as we work together to collect gifts for a toy drive through Denville Social Services. The age range we will be collecting for are boys and girls aged 11, 12, and 13. Gifts should be unwrapped, appropriate for Middle School Students and no more than $25 in cost (okay, a little more would be okay). For ideas, you can do what we do. Go to Amazon Gift Suggestions for Children Ages 11-13!
Our two-week collection will start-up upon our return from break (November 29th) and run through Friday, December 10th. This means you can take advantage of the upcoming Black Friday and all of the amazing sales out there! All gifts can be brought to room 102 where our NHS Advisor, Ms. Skerker will collect them. As always, we appreciate your support & partnership for this worthy holiday cause!

PACS Presents “Trimester Treats”: PACS is excited to bring back a wonderful initiative that they began last year-Trimester Treats! The motivation behind Trimester Treats was to both nourish and encourage our students on their upcoming exams (Dec 8-10). Our Trimester Treats will be an assortment of their favorite single-serve snacks labeled with encouraging messages to keep them upbeat and positive. Just enough to keep them from being hungry and to let them know that we believe in them!
All snacks will need to be in before exams so that gives us Monday, 12/6, and Tuesday, 12/7 as our drop-off dates. Below is a link for parents to sign up to donate snacks including quantities requested (based on Costco-sized boxes so no worries if you are over/under the requested amounts) Trimester Treat Sign Ups
Chips, Cookies, Muffins, Trail Mix are some of our kid’s all-time trimester treat favorites! We are excited for the return of the TRIMESTER TREATS high school tradition that brings our community together to support our students. And as always thank you for making it happen!

Welcome to “Pho”vember!: Our annual photography competition has begun! This past November, students were invited to participate in a school-wide photo contest aptly named “Phovember” which required them to submit photos based on the theme “Happiness”. Our students and faculty answered the call submitting some of their best work yet! This year's photo’s which students and staff will be voting on has been divided into 3 categories:
Voting will take place over exam week so stay tuned to find out who will win the glory of being among the top Craig High photographers and receive an all-expense paid lunch at a local Pho restaurant!

Afterschool Tailgating League (Mondays Dec 6 and 13): Welcome to the CSHS TAILGATING League! Our two-week league starts up next Monday where we will challenge our players with a collection of the most popular tailgating games ever played in any parking lot anywhere!
