Late, Lost & Lagging Behind: Demystifying Executive Functions
Executive functioning skills are essential to how we learn and act. They're the brain’s ability to self-regulate, complete tasks, be time aware and remember information. In essence, they control EVERYTHING we do! Leslie will break down the six pillars of executive functions, including time management, working memory, effort and mood regulation. She’ll highlight the importance of understanding where your student sits on the Executive Age scale, and provide insight in how we can help our students strengthen their EF muscle. Leslie will also detail specific scaffolding, strategies and systems and provide practical solutions using case studies to help support organization, time management, procrastination and focusing weaknesses.

Fall Community Service at the Craig School High School
The changing of the leaves and the start of the CSHS community service program always marks the true beginning of fall. All students at Craig High are required to complete 10 hours of community service annually. Our fall sign ups are complete and our students began their chosen internal community service last week.
On a daily basis, our students run our recycling program that includes paper and plastic (picture in gallery) Also daily, our students run, stock, and manage the student break bar (picture in gallery). On Fridays, we have a community service crew organize our classrooms and clean up our gym and a smaller group water all of the plants in our school (picture in the gallery)! Every 6-weeks, students will have another opportunity to sign up for the community service of their choice.
