Craig School New Jersey

LS/MS Week of June 7, 2021

Dear Craig Families,

It’s amazing how quickly the school year is flying by and fortunately, there seems to be a light at the end of the COVID tunnel. Last year’s Awards Ceremony was virtual, a completely new experience for Craig. This year, I am happy to announce that the 2020-2021 Awards Assembly will be held on campus on Wednesday, June 16th. We will follow all the CDC guidelines for the on campus visits. The assembly will be held in the auditorium and seating will be marked. We are limiting family members to two.  Because of the numbers permitted in the auditorium, we will be celebrating at the below scheduled times:

2nd - 4th grade Homerooms 8:30 am - 9:30 am

7th grade Homerooms 10:00 am - 11:00 am

5th grade Homerooms 12:10 pm - 1:10 pm

6th-grade Homerooms 1:45 pm - 2:45 pm

We would like to invite all of our virtual students to attend in-person but we understand if health factors do not yet permit it. Therefore,  there will be a virtual student online Awards Assembly from 3:10 pm - 3:30 pm. We will send the Google Invite at a later date. Families of virtual students please RSVP to Kimberly McGroarty ( by Monday, June 14th whether you will attend in-person or virtual.

After the Awards Ceremony, the students will return to their regularly scheduled classes. Parents, if you would like to sign your child out to take them home, you may do so. We understand making an additional trip may be too time consuming and we would much rather your attendance at the assembly. Parking will be available in the Craig parking lot.

The Awards Assembly is an opportunity to applaud our students for all they have accomplished, especially this year. They came to school with  masks on, ready to work. Besides their content areas, they acquired expertise in the use of technology tools. Students were flexible when in-person learning, for one reason or another turned to virtual. Students maintained two organizational plans, one hard copy and one digital. They sustained a positive attitude throughout the year. Every one of our students has become a Craig School Hero. So, mark your calendar for Wednesday, June 16th when you will be given an in-person opportunity to recognize our students. Let’s celebrate a year of hard work, enthusiasm, and a job well done.

The Craig School’s Annual

Fundraising Event

Tuesday, June 15th.

This year we have created an event that everyone can enjoy. We are incredibly excited about this opportunity to gather together in support of Craig. Here are some ways that you can help to make this our most successful event to date:

GOLF: Sign up to golf at Ballyowen on Tuesday, June 15th. Bring your friends, bring your neighbor, bring your brother or sister and join us for lunch, golf and dinner!

DINNER: If you have previous commitments during the day, head to Ballyowen for dinner and the opportunity to meet new friends.

TEE BOX SPONSOR: If none of these options work out for you, sponsor a Tee Box which will be displayed on the course during the day. It’s a great way to honor a Craig School teacher or faculty member or even proudly flaunt the name of your student or graduate.

AMAZON WISHLIST: Purchasing items from our Amazon Wish List is always a fun and easy way to contribute to the fundraiser. You’ll be amazed at how your Amazon donations get transformed into fun packages that result in lots of bidding!

As the date of the Annual Golf Outing/Auction gets closer we will have an online auction that all can participate in. You’ll be able to bid on an assortment of items while at Ballyowen or from the comfort of your home.

Thank you and I hope to see you up at Ballyowen on Tuesday, June 15th!

If you have any questions or would like to be more involved, please contact me at or 973.334.1295 ext. 229.
