This is my first 2019 Wednesday Thoughts. Over the next few weeks, I am going to write on these topics. Just before the Thanksgiving break, we had that odd November snowstorm that brought 6 inches of snow to our campuses. I hope you saw the snow report coming from the Craig High School Weather Station when Mr. Simpson shot out a picture on Thursday night of the mounting snow. That snowstorm brought to me an avalanche (sorry for the pun) of new ideas. So here is a preview for 2019: Perspectives from recent high school graduates; Digital technology and the Brain; Multi-tasking; Artificial Intelligence; Immediate response; and Group activities causing stress. I hope you enjoy. For this week, the first full week of school for 2019, my hope is that routines are back on track, our students are happy to be back, and our parents continue to be appreciative of the gifts their youngsters share with all of us. On a side note, last Friday night we had Craig alum get-togethers, one hosted by Mr. Furlong for students who attend Craig through the 8th grade and a second one for Craig High School graduates (and some of our students attended both events). We had about 70 former students attend and there was lots of laughter and joy on the basketball court (in Mountain Lakes) and the bowling alley (Craig High School). Thank you Mr. Furlong and Dr. Caparulo for hosting our students, and to the teachers and staff who came out to say hello and catch-up.
