Digital Technology and the Brain.
There has been considerable discussion about what digital technology has been doing to teenage brains. I have read a considerable amount on this subject and it is a subject among heads of schools as well as parents. There has been less written about what it has done to adult brains. I am not going to cite all the research about the negative effects on either aged brains. I do want to state how I have used it personally for positive actions. There are two. First, if an idea comes to me that I want to act on I immediately open my phone and record it in the notes section of an organizing app. I get it out of my brain and into a system that I can review quickly and determine how I wish to handle the action item. Second, I find that with digital technology I am able to get inspired about something and engage with others quickly- particularly if they are not right near me. What I have found is if I keep my use of digital technology to a minimum, I avoid the negative aspects and realize the benefits. Another reason this Wednesday Thoughts is very short.
