Perspectives after high school
Two weeks ago, graduates from Craig High School came back to be panelists for our Tenth Annual Grad Panel. Dr. Eric Caparulo and Mrs. Dawn DeSimone, our wonderful director of college and post-secondary planning who helps our students assembled five recent Craig High School students. We captured the morning on video that will soon be released. This video is something that every Craig School parent and staff member should see at some point. The message from our graduates who have attended a variety of schools and programs after Craig is to use the skills we taught them in Middle or High School, and advocate for yourself. This is simple advice and there are more concrete examples on the video, but why I mention this is that I feel many people never tell others what they need. Think about your own instances when you did not tell me what was important to you. What these recent high school graduates told the audience of The Craig School parents and our high school juniors and seniors is that you must tell people what you need- as it pertains to their own learning disability or anything else.
