Results, Trust, and Connection
When schools talk about why they are successful, it often boils down to three things- results, trust and personal connection. In tuition charging schools, it is why families pay tuition to a school. These three factors are why people give a voluntary gift to a school. We are approaching the last few weeks of school and hopefully our students and our teachers are feeling like they have had “positive results” together. This is the key to a good school year. Second, trust. I know that many students and parents have come to trust the teachers who instruct them and with that trust, the positive results come much easier. Finally, personal connection. On this point, I have long argued that one of the reasons schools like Craig are successful is because of the personal connection we create with students, parents and with each other. This is the key to mission driven and independent schools, and in fact to introduce a fourth concept- it is our value proposition. Now is the time of the year when we all should take stock of these four areas of school life, and even our own out of school life. I hope everyone is finding success.
