PACS Home Cooking Parent Series-“Torpedo Tuesday”: This Tuesday, PACS and CHS Parent Volunteers will be offering our next Home Cooking lunch in our Home Cooking series. Last month was Taco Tuesday. This month, we are going with “Torpedo Tuesday” (know in other parts of the country as Grinder Tuesday, Hoagie Tuesday, Hero Tuesday, or Sub Tuesday)! Students will have the opportunity to make their own sandwiches with all the fixings. Ham, Cheddar, pickles, and mayo? We got that. Turkey, Lettuce, Swiss, on a Bagel? We got that too all courtesy of PACS and the parents of CHS.
PSAT Testing-9th and 10th Grade: This Wednesday, the CHS wlll transform into a PSAT Testing Center for our 9th and 10th grade. Over the course of the school day, our 9th and 10th graders will take 4 tests which make up the PSAT. There is a reading section (47 questions) that includes passages from various genres including literature, science, and history. The writing section (44 questions) puts students in the role of editor where they pin point grammar mistakes and decide on general topics and themes. There are two math sections, one non-calculator (17 questions) and one calculator section (31 questions). Both math sections focus on computation, algebra, problem solving and data analysis. Other than a handful of math grid in problems, all test sections are multiple choice.

“Los Tejones” Are Ready for La Copa 2019: The BHS Copa, an annual afterschool soccer tournament, is this Thursday and the Badgers (Los Tejones) are ready! We have a team of 9 players, our largest squad ever so our plan is to use our numbers to wear out other teams. The team held a vote and have selected their co-captains for La Copa 2019. This year’s team captions are Senior, David Altman and Sophomore, Jarod Christern. Find out in next week’s CHIL if we pulled off CHS’s first La Copa victory in the tournaments history!
