Welcome

Welcome to The Craig School of Mountain Lakes (grades 3-8) and Lincoln Park (grades 9-12)!

The Craig School is more than just an independent school that specializes in working with students with learning disabilities.  We are a family of parents, educators, and students brought together by purpose.  We are a school built upon the foundation that all students can and will learn if the right environment, strategies and supports are made available to them.  We are a second home to our students and families.

When one is asked to define the term home, it is rare for someone to include a school in their answer.  Some of the more common responses would be a familiar setting, a relaxed and comfortable place, a nurturing haven.  To our current and past students and families, Craig is all of that and more.

In order for students to achieve their true academic and social potentials, they must first feel safe to learn and to take intellectual risks.  This is even more significant for students with learning disabilities.  For the past 30 years, The Craig School has been that safe, supportive academic environment for students with language-based learning disabilities.

We offer a challenging academic program that is aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards.  Our program features proven research based learning strategies - including multi-sensory approaches, assistive technology and organizational skills.  We teach our students how to learn by providing them with meta-cognitive strategies and cross-curricular approaches.  These learning tools allow students to build their academic foundations, to increase their ability to be active and independent learners and to develop a sense of who they are as individuals and students.

On our website you will find detailed information about the specifics of our college prep program, the learning strategies we use and profiles of the amazing team of certified subject area specialists that make The Craig School a recognized and highly respected name and resource in the field of learning disabilities.  If you would like to receive further information or have specific questions about Craig or our admissions process, please contact our Director of Admissions, Mrs. Marci Taub, either by phone at (973) 334-1295, or by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Home is truly where the heart is.  When you visit the campuses of The Craig School, you will immediately feel that sense of home, that you are surrounded by educators who care, who understand learning disabilities and who are there to help guide your child along a path of current and future success.  The doors to our home are open to you.

Eric M. Caparulo, D.Ed.
