Thank you for your interest in The Craig School. We offer a warm, nurturing environment and a challenging, strategic-based academic curriculum to meet the needs of children with average to above average intelligence who have a learning disability and/or attentional difficulties. This safe, supportive environment encourages students to take greater intellectual risk and to explore new as well as nurture existing interests. I look forward to helping you in this process, and I encourage you to reach out to me at any time.

The Craig School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally made available to students at the School.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color national or ethnic origin.

Our Admissions process is designed to help you make an informative and thoughtful decision about the next educational setting for your child and if The Craig School is a good match. We make admission decisions on a rolling basis as each Application for Admission becomes complete.

After coming to our school to see the students and faculty in action and you believe it could be a good place for your child, the application for admission is submitted.

The following steps are important as we get to know your child. The first step is the application for admission.

    1. Submit Application:  Please submit a completed application, evaluative material, and a $50.00 application fee to us at The Craig School, 10 Tower Hill Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046.
All of our Applications are submitted online using The Craig School website and the address below.

    2. Application & Evaluative Material Review:  Students will be evaluated using a variety of educational tools. We require as many of the following as available before making an evaluation:
      Neuropsychological Evaluation
      IEP if completed
Educational Assessment from your school district, (if available and completed by your school district).
Learning Evaluation from a private evaluator
    3. Preliminary Screening:  We want to be able to serve students at Craig who can be best served by our school program. Our goal is to make sure we have a program in place to meet the needs of our students. After a review of the application and evaluative materials submitted, we will be in contact with you to schedule further discussions about your child.
    4. Parent Visit and meeting:  Our parent visit is designed so that you can speak directly with our school directors about your child. After this discussion, and it is determined that Craig could be a good match, your child will then be asked to spend a day at Craig School.
    5. Child Visit:  We will set up the visit on a mutually convenient day. We begin by sending you an invitation for your child to visit on a specific day. In the invitation you will receive an overview of the day. We also realize that children are nervous visiting a new school so we will give you instructions on how to prepare your child for the visit. You will receive this invitation directly from the school office via email.
    6. Admissions Decision:  After the child visit, the Admissions Committee makes a final determination, and we will notify you of our Admissions decision by phone and mail. Enrollment Contracts are then generated for the school year. We ask you to complete the Enrollment Contract within 30 days.
