THE CRAIG SCHOOL

WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Message from the Director

Dear Badger Families,

Our annual Grandfriends’ Day event is right around the corner on November 21st! This special day is a yearly celebration of literacy centered around a unique theme. Students are encouraged to invite a VIP to join them—some bring a grandparent (or four!), while others invite another important person in their lives. Anyone your child wishes to share their Craig experience with is welcome. If your child would like to share the day with a sibling or friend, please ensure an adult accompanies them.

The day will include four themed activities centered around this year’s delightful focus: Winnie the Pooh. It’s a perfect way to spend the day before we break for Thanksgiving, as we all leave feeling grateful for our Craig community. An RSVP form with full details has been emailed and is also included just below this letter.

Another meaningful community moment this week was our Veterans Day Luncheon, hosted by our Leadership Council. The full-school assembly that followed gave our local veterans a heartfelt glimpse into just how deeply their service and sacrifice are appreciated by all of us. It was a truly moving day for everyone in attendance. The luncheon—beautifully served and supported by the Veterans Day Committee of the Leadership Council—reflected our school’s genuine gratitude. A special thank-you to Kathryn McKeever and Ben Naftal for chairing this important event with such care and dedication. And with heartfelt appreciation, we recognize Laura Given, our Leadership Council founder and Co-Chair, for her passion, heart, and vision, which so lovingly guided our Veterans Day Committee and makes this day possible each year.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Jennifer Guthrie
Director of the Lower & Middle School

PACS

Grandfriend’s Day is a special opportunity for students to share the joy of The Craig School with a cherished person in their life. Students can bring a grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle, mom, dad, or any other special person to join them. Alternatively, students can come alone and team up with a Craig teacher or staff member. During this fun-filled, themed half-day, students and their special guests will embark on a magical journey. PACS will transform the cafeteria and hallways, and teachers will organize a variety of games and activities.

Ways To Help:

  • Decorating Crew (11/20): Help transform the cafeteria and hallways into the Hundred Acre Woods! We will need creative hands and helpers the afternoon before the event
  • Event Helpers (11/21): Assist with setting up the breakfast spread, replenishing food, and keeping the cafeteria tidy throughout the event
  • Clean Up Crew (11/21): Help clean up and break down the event
