The following steps are important and required as we get to know your child :

Preliminary Screening:  We want to be able to serve students at Craig who will benefit from our programs. Our goal is to make sure we meet the needs of our students. After a review of the application and evaluative materials submitted, we will be in contact with you to schedule further discussions about your student.

Parent Visit and meeting:  Our parent visit is designed so that you can speak directly with our school directors about your student. After this discussion, and it is determined that The Craig School could be a good match, your student will then be asked to spend a day with us. We will be following all state guidelines on COVID 19 so this full-day visit may be adjusted.

Submit Application:

Please submit a completed application, evaluative material, and a $50.00 application fee to us at The Craig School, 10 Tower Hill Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046. All of our applications are submitted online using The Craig School website. Apply Online Application & Evaluative Material Review:  Students will be evaluated using a variety of educational tools. Please email all testing after you have applied to Kate Tartaglia- ktartaglia@craigschool.org. We require as many of the following as available before making an evaluation:

  • Neuropsychological Evaluation and/or IEP if completed
  • Educational Assessment from your school district, (if available and completed by your school district).
  • Learning Evaluation from a private evaluator

Student Tour: We will set up the visit on a mutually convenient day. You will receive an invitation via email for your student to visit on a specific day and included will be an overview of the day. Visiting a new school can be unpredictable so we will give you instructions on how to prepare everyone for the visit.  Your student will be given a brief reading assessment during this visit. This helps us to determine the best placement/reading class for your student.

Shadow Day Visit for your student
