Welcome to Super Bowl weekend! Thank you to all of our Craig High Community who supported the CHS National Honor Society “Souper Bowl” Can drive leading into this year's Super Bowl.
In addition to supporting our local food pantry, our final can totals have given us the Super Bowl winner and the final score. Here is what the cans revealed:
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS 28
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 24
BAD BUNNY 20
The cans have spoken! Also, this upcoming week, we have a College Guest Vistors Zoom on Monday. DYNAMY INTERNSHIP YEAR PROGRAM will be zooming with us this Monday at 1 PM. CHS has had two graduates attend this gap year program, and both have had positive experiences. More info below.
Our 2nd trimester progress reports will be going live on the Craig School Parent Portal (Craig Parent Portal) this Thursday, February 10th. You will need to log in to your Veracross school account to view them using the email that you shared with the school.
If you have forgotten your password or are accessing the portal for the first time, click "Can't Access Your Account" under the password prompt. Once you have logged in, look for the “Classes & Reports” button under your teen’s name, then “HS Fall Progress Reports”.
Once you have a chance to review them, if you have any questions or need clarification, please feel free to email that teacher directly.
Have an amazing Super Bowl filled with the big three: family, friends, and food. Go Seahawks!
Dr. Cap

Senior Sivert Places Top 10 in Morris County Championships.
During his time at CHS, senior Sivert has found a way to balance his schedule and his school responsibilities with running for Roxbury High School.
To say he has been successful at all of the above feels like an understatement! Sivert is an active member of our school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, and after an impressive showing at the Morris County Indoor Track Championships, he is now a top twenty senior 600-meter runner in the state of NJ.
Recently, the top runners in Morris County traveled to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Center in Staten Island for the 2026 Indoor Championships. Sivert pulled off a top-10 finish and a personal best in the 600m, running a blistering 1:27 that ranks him as the 17th-fastest senior in the state of New Jersey. His impressive time helped him to punch his ticket to the upcoming State sectionals. Way to go, Sivert.

SAVE THE DATES-CHS Summer Program July-August 2026-REGISTRATION
The Craig High School Summer Academic Program will be held at our MOUNTAIN LAKES campus during July (July 6-July 30, Mon-Thurs 9 am-12 pm). The experience of having both schools on one campus last summer was a positive experience for our summer students and staff, so this year we will be heading over to Mt. Lakes.
In addition to the morning academic program, you can also register for the AFTERNOON ENRICHMENT Program, which follows the morning academics M-TH from 12-3:30 PM. The afternoon enrichment program offers all-day field trips on Fridays throughout July (Fridays, 9AM-4PM). For our HS students attending the afternoon enrichment program, we provide an opportunity to be a “Counselor in Training” (CIT). Our CIT program is facilitated by Mr. Furlong.
For more information on our summer program, visit our website at https://www.craigschool.org/academics/summer-academy/ and click on the High School tab. To register for the morning and/or afternoon program, use the following link (REGISTER CHS Summer Program 2026). Any summer questions, reach out to our Director of Admissions, Kate Tartaglia, at KTartaglia@craigschool.org
CHS Guest College Visitor Series: Dynamy Internship Year Program
CHS Parents and Students are welcome to join us for a virtual visit from the Dynamy Internship Year program on Monday, February 9th at 1 PM. Based in Worcester, Massachusetts, Dynamy is a gap-year program for those interested in sampling various job opportunities. Dynamy offers both full and half-year programs for young adults up to age 22.
Dynamy is a great option for those who are looking to gain real-world work experiences while exploring various career interests and practising real-life adulting skills. Students live together in supervised apartments in the city of Worcester. They meet with Dynamy staff for various workshops to boost their confidence with independence and practice real-life skills like budgeting, meal planning, and taking charge of household chores & responsibilities. Students can also take optional classes through Clark University to earn college credits.
We’ve had a few recent Craig alums who had great experiences with Dynamy, and this is an awesome option for students who would like to live on their own in a safe, supportive environment while also gaining hands-on work experience. Parents can join using the following Zoom link, while students will meet in room 102.
CHS Badger Hoops Opens Season on the Road
The CHS Badgers opened their season on the road this week as they made the trek down 287 to Whippany to take on Winston Prep High. Although the final outcome (36-25) wasn’t in our favor, there were plenty of positives for the Badgers to build on.
After falling behind by double digits early, the sharp shooting of Freshman Elijah and Sophomore Asher allowed CHS to draw within striking distance in the 4th quarter. A few Badgers made their HS hoops debut, including freshmen Joey Tall and Joey B, whose defense allowed us back in the game. Juniors Daniel and Ana and veteran sophomore Erin ran the floor and made the stops when we needed them the most. Next week, we have a Tuesday practice followed by an after-school Red-and-Black game with Craig Middle School on Thursday. It will be an all-Craig School event!
