Less Nagging, More Success: Practical ADHD and Executive Function Strategies Every Parent Can Use at Home

Description of Workshop:

In this practical and engaging presentation, parents will learn simple, effective strategies they can start using right away to support their child at home and reduce daily stress and power struggles.

Topics will include:

  • Task initiation and "task paralysis"
  • Time management challenges
  • Breaking down big projects
  • Strengthening self-regulation and self-awareness
  • Organization and working memory

The presentation will conclude with a Q&A session, and parents will receive a curated list of Allison's favorite ADHD and executive function resources to continue learning and supporting their child.

Allison Tyler, LSW

Allison Tyler, LCSW is a therapist and ADHD expert with more than 22 years of clinical experience helping children, teens, adults and families thrive with ADHD and executive function challenges.

She holds a bachelor's degree from Colby College, a Master of Social Work from New York University, and a post-graduate certificate in working with children and families from Royal Holloway University in London.

Allison is the author of two books: Thriving with ADHD Workbook for Teens: Improve Focus, Get Organized, and Succeed and Raising a Girl with ADHD: A Practical Guide to Help Girls Harness Their Unique Strengths and Abilities. Through her private practice, ADHD Strategy Mom, she supports individuals with ADHD across the lifespan and also works as a neurodiversity consultant to corporate workplaces.

Earlier in her career, Allison oversaw clinical counseling services for Prospect Park School District. She also served as a special advisor to Mattel during the development of Kavi, American Girl Doll of the Year 2022, and the accompanying book It's Showtime, Ravi by Varsha Bajaj.
