Staying in Touch

Staying in Touch

As I mentioned last week, Monday – Thursday the Lower and Middle School students are proceeding through their normal school day virtually through Google Meet and interacting face to face with each of their teachers and classmates.  We have received many positive responses on how well this is working for our students.  We are so appreciative of our teachers for their devotion to make sure not a beat is missed while we are all away from Craig’s campus.

On Fridays the students are encouraged to step away from their screens and get outside to get their bodies moving as well as explore their creativity.  This past week, the Lower and Middle School students learned about Andy Goldsworthy, a British artist who uses natural materials and the passage of time. He creates temporary landscape art installations out of sticks, stones, flowers, leaves and anything else that he finds outside.  Our students were introduced to his work and directed to create their own nature-inspired art.  You can see the whole gallery of their creations on The Craig School Facebook page, but here are just a few to show the talent of our incredible students.  Well done, Craig students!

Dr. Cap has been hosting both a morning and an afternoon Zoom meeting for the high school students to talk about the latest news, address any student questions and just socialize with each other.  During last week’s meetings Dr. Cap encouraged the students to travel the world during this week’s spring break.  He provided them with a link giving them access to tours of Buckingham Palace, National Parks and the Titanic as well as numerous other famous places in the world.  We can’t wait to hear where the students “traveled” while on spring break!

Best wishes, Katie Burke – Director of Development
