CHS GUEST SPEAKER-Mihir, CHS Class of 2018, Presenting “AI-Impact on Our World and Emerging Career Fields”: When we last shared an update on CHS Class of 2018 Grad Mihir, he was walking across the stage of Pace University in NY Magna Cum Laude picking up his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and a minor in digital art while taking a selfie.
In addition to his degree, Mihir was awarded the 2023 Career Services Undergraduate Award for his multiple student internships, with his very last internship landing him a full-time job gig with Prudential as an analyst.
During his time as a college student as well as in his work as an analyst, Mihir has utilized AI and has gained an understanding of its benefits, challenges, and impact on the future for students. He will be joining us this week to share these insights with CHS.
CHS Celebrates National Food on a Stick: CHS has its calendar marked for March 28th each year. Why? Because it's National Food on a Stick Day, and Ms. Jahn makes sure it's one delicious day at CHS! This year's food on a stick menu included PB&J on a stick, Meatball Parm Sticks, Fruit Kabobs, Corn Dogs, and Pancake-Nutella-Banana Kabobs!
Food on a stick has been around for centuries, with the earliest evidence of food skewering traced back to ancient times when people would roast meat on wooden or metal sticks over an open flame. In 1924, the Corn Dog made its first appearance. The next food on a stick breakthrough happened in 1947, when Popsicles were introduced, giving birth to frozen treats on a stick. Today, Food on a Stick are staples at every state fair, carnival, and street food festival. And we can add CHS to that list thanks to Ms. Jahn! .
Afterschool Golf Clinics Tuesdays, April 22nd and 29th: We are looking for students to be a part of our Afterschool Golf Clinics starting after Spring Break. We are very fortunate to have an experienced Golfer and Golf Coach in CHS Senior Jada, who will be guiding Dr. Cap and our students on the fundamentals of golf.
We will practice our skills at CHS with the goal of a May trip to Twin Willows in Lincoln Park to put our golf skills to the test. No equipment or experience is necessary. See Dr. Cap or Jada if interested in joining us.
