THE CRAIG SCHOOL

WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Message from the Director

It was great to see our school community back from Spring Break, safe, sound, and ready to officially kick off our 3rd trimester.   This week we have our next CRAIG SCHOOL SPEAKER SERIES this Tuesday evening ((REGISTER HERE).

Our ESPORTS teams have two league games after school (MON and WEDS), and we are hoping to start up after-school Softball on THURS if we get enough student interest.  This FRI is the last day to sign up for our Spring TEACHER FEATURES (Teacher Feature 2026 Link). And don’t forget that CHS PROM tickets are officially on sale ($70 per tix)!

Here is to our April showers and their potential payoff in May,

Dr. Cap

ATHLETICS

Craig High School Esports Update: Badgers Split in Dual Esports Meet: The Craig High School Badgers Esports team put together a couple of strong showings in dual Garden States Esports league play leading up to Spring Break. Our match-ups were highlighted by an exciting 2–1 tiebreaker victory over Piscataway High School in a back-and-forth battle that came down to the final cup.

Our team also faced a tough Lakewood High School squad and dropped a 2-0 decision to the league leaders.  The Badgers were led by junior Christian, along with Mike B., who made his season debut and made a positive impact.  Key point getters included Elijah and Miles, who pulled off some solid second places to keep us in the matches.  For our Mario Kart enthusiasts, our Cup races featured the Flower, Banana, and Crossing Cups, and our buggy race choices were the Scootie and Teddy Buggy setups.

The CHS Esports team and Coach Johnathan are back in action upon our return from Spring Break as we host our first HOME matches of the season, taking on Shawnee High School (Burlington County) and Liberty High School (Hudson County). Our team will be competing THIS MONDAY and WEDNESDAY (3-4:30PM).

Craig High Reclaims the Craig Cup with 3–1 Volleyball Tourney Win: Craig High closed out its volleyball season in the best way possible—bringing home the Craig Cup with a hard-fought 3–1 victory in the Craig School battle. The match was competitive from the opening serve, with several games decided by narrow margins that could have gone either way.

The CHS Badgers were led by sophomore captain Erin, whose steady leadership and constant on-court communication helped keep the team focused throughout. Freshman Elijah delivered an outstanding all-around performance, contributing across the board and making a major impact in every game he played.

Defensively, Joey Tall was relentless, returning nearly everything that came his way and keeping rallies alive when it mattered most. At the service line, Joey B. was dialed in, consistently nailing his serve. It was truly a complete team effort and a fitting way to cap off our season.

LAST CALL_CHS Softball (April-May): It's been a few years since CHS students graced the diamond of Etta Konner Field in Montville, and we are still looking to drum up enough interest amongst our CHS students to change that. Right now, we are a few players light to make it happen.

For those considering, practices would be on the next four consecutive THURSDAYS (April 16, 23, 30, and May 3) from 3-4:30PM with pickup at   Etta Konner Park, which is located at 12 Walnut Drive in Pine Brook (3 miles from CHS).  Interested players should see Dr. Cap.
