Looks like softball didn’t make the cut for the Spring, but no worries. Next up is CHS GOLF. We will be checking for interest, and our minimum is a lot less than softball, so we should be good to go. Golf will be happening after school on THURSDAYS with the goal of wrapping up our clinics with a trip to a local driving range or course. Keep you posted on that.
This week, we celebrate one of our CHS Seniors, Ava, who has made the decision to attend FDU next fall. We are also excited to officially announce a new road at CHS that all of you will be traveling on at one point or another. It is named “Best Way” after sophomore Mike B.
Also happening this week, we have our Earth Day cleanup on Wednesday and a College Road Trip to CCM on Friday. Throw in Prom Tickets being on sale and our May Lunch ordering window opening up today (www.myfooddays.com), and what we have are the makings of a great week at CHS. Hope your week is a great one too,
Dr. Cap

SPEAKER SERIES
This week, Allison Tyler, Craig school parent and ADHD Coach, spent an hour with our community explaining executive functioning skills and giving some excellent tips and strategies for families to use at home. These skills are foundational for all other life activities, including school work, navigating peer relationships and friendships, and participating in their beloved activities. In this newsletter, you will find links to the recording, the presentation, and the handout of resources Allison provided. I encourage you to explore these resources. Whether you are well-versed or new to the thought of executive functioning skills, there are a lot of great tips that are easy to implement.
If you missed the presentation, you can view it on our homepage of the website or view it here. VIEW FULL PRESENTATION
CHS Ribbon Cutting Ceremony-CHS’s Newest Road, BEST WAY is Officially Open
A few months back, we held our Craig School Bowl-a-Rama, and one of the most popular silent auction items was the chance to NAME A ROAD at CHS. The Best family jumped in and won the bid—clearly living up to their name!
This past Friday, the CHS community gathered to celebrate the dedication and official opening of BEST WAY, the newest road at Craig High. 10th grader, Mike Best, for whom the road is named, accepted the honor on behalf of his family and cut the ribbon. In his remarks, he shared that there are no stop signs or speed limits on Best Way, so good luck! The road we chose is the official drop-off road right outside our gym, so our CHS students can celebrate each day the Best Way possible!
CHS PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT
NEXT WEDNESDAY-Earth Day at CHS 2026
This Wednesday, April 22nd, CHS will be joining schools around the world to celebrate Earth Day with our annual CHS Earth Day Campus Clean Up. In addition to beautifying our campus, our students will earn a $600 Clean Community grant through the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority's “Keep Morris County Litter Free” program. The grant will be used to further enhance our school recycling program. We will arm our students with reach grabbers, gloves, trash bags, and words of encouragement from Mr. Norton, and scour our two-acre campus from top to bottom, removing anything that is not green and growing!
To make it interesting, our students will be competing in three Earth Day categories: Earth Day Volume, Earth Day Quality, and Earth Day Strangeness. Last year, we set the bar at almost 47 lbs of garbage and recycling in the areas surrounding our campus, which is a school record! The plan is to top that! Keep you posted.
NEXT FRIDAY-CHS College Road Trip This Friday: County College of Morris (CCM)
Craig High School will be taking a college road trip next Friday (April 24th) down Route 10 to Randolph, where we will spend some time on the campus of the County College of Morris! CCM is a 222-acre campus that offers over 50 Associate Degrees, graduates over 1000 students a year, and is ranked amongst the top 5% of all community colleges nationwide.
During our visit, students will tour the beautiful campus, explore the Regional Learning Center, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the resources and supports available to help students succeed at the college level.
We’ll also have the opportunity to meet with an admissions counselor, who will walk us through the various academic programs at CCM, the college application process, the transfer process to a Bachelor’s program, and some insights into student life at CCM. And who knows, we may even run into a few familiar CHS alumni faces on our travels! We will be back at CHS by lunchtime.
