Welcome back, and welcome to 2024!!! We are so excited to announce that The Craig School has been selected as a founding school for the newly formed Association of LD Schools. This honor indicates Craig’s unwavering commitment to our community and the regional and national community of LD learners, teachers, and parents. As a founding member of this organization, we will have the opportunity to learn from other schools as well as spotlight some of our excellent programs and educators. Below is a description of the association; be on the lookout for announcements about free webinars and programs that will be useful to you as parents as you navigate this unique educational journey!

Connecting and Supporting LD Schools and the People in Them

Founded in 2023, The Association of LD Schools (ALDS) is a formal community for schools that specialize in the education of students with learning differences, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and executive dysfunction. With over 200 schools specializing in this type of education, ALDS aims to connect the people who make these schools as transformative as they are. By dedicating both time and resources to this very important cause, ALDS makes it possible to involve more members of our school community in these collaborations and to reach other schools with our same goals. Ultimately, ALDS allows this community to reach more students and change the future of education.

Dear Badger Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and wish everyone a very happy and healthy 2024! The break was nice, but it was also nice to get back to school and back to a routine. Starting our mornings together as a school community is definitely a positive way to start the day!

Right before the break, the Goals and Objectives filled out by the teachers were emailed out from records@craigschool.org. Please let me or Renee Hecht know if you did not receive them. The report cards were also made available through our new learning management system, Veracross. If you were not able to get in to see your child’s report card, please contact John Chismar, our Director of Technology, at jchismar@craigschool.org. He will be happy to help you access your portal and your child’s report card. If you have any questions concerning a specific subject area, whether it is about the Goals and Objectives or the report card, please reach out to your child’s teacher for clarification. If there is anything I can help clarify, I am happy to talk as well.

I am looking forward to a great winter season with lots of rich learning and experiences for our students!

PARKING MESSAGE

Mountain Lakes Campus

We are very grateful to have such an involved community! As with any large family, we can overwhelm those around us sometimes. Please help us by doing your best to be considerate of our neighbors whenever you come to campus.

As you come to campus for drop-off, pick-up, and various activities, please continue to be good neighbors to our community. Ideally, when picking up at regular dismissal time, please try to come as close to 3:00 as possible. It is even fine to plan to be here at 3:10. I certainly understand that not all family schedules allow for waiting until 3:00 and just ask that you do what you can. If you must line up before 3:00, please be very mindful of not blocking the road or driveways on either side of Laurel Hill Road and obey idling laws by turning off your car.

When coming onto the Mountain Lakes campus for activities, whether they are during the day or after school, please continue to be considerate of our community. Please only park in lined spots in our lot, in empty spots in the Blue House parking lot, or across the Boulevard at the Masonic Lodge.
