Janet M. Cozine Auditorium

Dear Parents, Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Board Members, and Friends of The Craig School,

Thank you for being part of this extraordinary school.

I am full of gratitude for the warmth of this community. A special thank you to our parents, past and present, for entrusting your most prized possession, your children, into our care. I extend deep appreciation for our faculty and staff, whose dedication
and service to our students is second to none.

Last week, we shared the news of Lower and Middle School Director Janet Cozine’s retirement, whose career spanning 42 years, influenced and changed both the landscape of education for students with exceptionalities and the lives of families and students who found themselves at The Craig School’s door. It is so important for us to honor her legacy and to honor her in a way that will have a lasting impact on our community recognizing her work with our alumni, benefiting our students today as well as our students of tomorrow.

One of the very first people our families meet on their journey to The Craig School is Janet. Her work through the admission process is marked with kindness and empathy. Our families find someone who understands their journey and is able to give them hope for the future. Her incredible knowledge and expertise are at the forefront through each parent and IEP/ISP meeting she conducts. Her pride in our students’ accomplishments as they walk across the auditorium stage in 8th grade is palpable. Walking across the auditorium stage, greeted by Janet, is a tangible realization of all that our lower and middle school students have achieved as learners, thinkers, and citizens. It is a day blazed upon our hearts and our minds as our hopes and dreams for our students, for your children, come to fruition.

White boxes in the graphic represent seats sold.

Join me in honoring Janet and her legacy. Each donation will be acknowledged in a gallery wall of donors and those donating $1,000 or higher receive the opportunity to have a seat plaque in dedication of someone special.

Our goal is ambitious, but our cause is great. Help me in making this big, grand gesture of thanks to a woman who for over four decades has given so much to us as members of The Craig School community.
