High School Newsletter

It was great to touch base with so many of our parents during this past week's virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences.  Our hope is that you got a good sense of your teen’s growth this year, as well as the positive direction we are heading to wrap up this school year. 

This Monday, our April Lunch Delivery orders are due, so if you haven’t already, get those April lunch orders in.   On Tuesday, we will be posting 2nd Trimester Grades to the Parent Portal, so on Tuesday, you can head over to the school website (www.craigschool.org), slide across to COMMUNITY RESOURCES, scroll down to Parent Portal, and enter your email.   

Also, this week, our Volleyball Team will be participating in a HOME-AWAY series with our MS with the goal of bringing the Craig Cup back to Montville.  Keep you posted on how we do.  We also have after-school esports league games against  Piscataway HS and Lakewood HS, as well as after-school Art on WEDS.  

And in closing, this week's  CHIL will lead us into Spring Break. Hope you all have a chance to relax and recharge as we head into April.

CHS Senior Sivert Takes to the Skies

At CHS, we love to celebrate the accomplishments of our students—especially when those accomplishments quite literally reach new heights!  This past month, we’re proud to share that Sivert, a member of the Class of 2026, achieved an impressive personal milestone by successfully passing his FAA checkride.

A checkride is the final test required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a pilot to earn a license. The test includes two parts: an in-depth oral examination where the pilot must demonstrate knowledge of aviation regulations, weather, navigation, and aircraft systems, followed by the flight test itself. During the flight test, the pilot must safely perform a series of maneuvers while flying with a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE).

Sivert passed both with “flying colors”. After years of dedication, studying, flight training, and balancing his school work at CHS while also competing on the Roxbury track team, Sivert is now officially a certified pilot.

We are so proud of Sivert and will certainly find ourselves looking up at the sky from time to time, wondering, “Is that Sivert up there?”

Congratulations to Sivert on this incredible achievement. Next up for Sivert is Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, where he has been accepted into the School of Aeronautics and will train for a career as a commercial pilot. 

CHS Volleyball Home and Away Series for the CRAIG CUP THIS WEEK (Tues, Montville and Thurs, Mt. Lakes)

This week, the CHS Volleyball Team will be hosting our MS on TUESDAY, March 24th, for an after-school matchup that will count towards the Craig Cup standings.  First serve will be around 3:30PM, and parents are welcome to join us in the CHS gym to cheer on the Badgers.  We should wrap up around 4:45PM.

On THURSDAY, CHS Volleyball will be heading to Mt. Lakes to play it back with our MS at the Reeth Furlong Gym. We will be bringing students over to the Mt. Lakes campus after school on THURS, March 26th.  Pick up for Thursday will be in Mt. Lakes at 4:45PM.  Parents are welcome to join us there as well.
